SUMMARY:2027 National Indigenous Diabetes Conference
DESCRIPTION:\nThe 13th Biennial National Indigenous Diabetes Conference, themed “Growing Healthy Futures: Community-Led Indigenous Diabetes Prevention and Care Across Generations,” will take place May 12-14, 2027. This gathering continues the strong legacy of the National Indigenous Diabetes Association (NIDA) in supporting First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada. Building on decades of leadership and community-driven impact, the conference brings together individuals with lived experience, Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative Workers, Indigenous front-line workers, leadership, Community Diabetes Prevention Workers, diabetes educators, health managers, dietitians, nutritionists, nurses, researchers, industry professionals, and government representatives.\n\n\n\nTogether, we will share knowledge, strengths, and promising practices in diabetes prevention, self-management, and wholistic health grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing and being. The conference remains a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, highlighting culturally relevant and community-led approaches to diabetes care and prevention across generations within Indigenous Nations.\n\n\n\nThis year’s theme emphasizes the importance of intergenerational knowledge transfer, uplifting the roles of Elders, youth, families, and communities in fostering lifelong wellness. It also highlights traditional teachings and practices that support wholistic health by nurturing the physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental aspects of well-being.\n\n\n\nDelegates will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, skills, and awareness through an engaging agenda featuring interactive workshops, oral presentations, field trips, plenary sessions, and inspiring keynote speakers. The conference also offers meaningful opportunities to learn directly from Indigenous communities and Peoples, while building relationships, strengthening networks, and fostering collaboration.\n\n\n\nJoin us as we continue to carry forward NIDA’s vision supporting Indigenous Peoples in living in a good way and advancing a path toward healthier futures for generations to come.\n\n\n\nTo receive information about registering via cheque or money order, please contact conferences@nada.ca ( mailto:conferences@nada.ca ) \n\n\n\nThere is no virtual option at this time.\n\n\n\n\nCall for Speakers ( https://whova.com/call_for_speakers/E7R8O%40-xmZ9Z7WGvUpJZ5PCY6Wni44a4DfM8JV3ccHApkhbeaB3FWJYT26-NR-zg/ )\n\n\n\nRegister Now on Whova ( https://2027NIDC.events.whova.com/registration/ )\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAgenda ( https://whova.com/embedded/event/bpvCusuEmvs5VBgxV4V2njsTTkzQFT3xgpujTCcQvkk%3D/?utc_source=ems )\n\n\n\nLogistics ( https://whova.com/embedded/logistics/lA99FP0ogZT@Ive9XUUo8QmrYFK6@bY8rlXA@SZJ6L0=/?utc_source=ems )\n\n\n\nView Sponsorship Opportunities\n\n\n\nView Vendor Registration\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
